(Please note that the bookstore is cash only (okay, if we know you we’ll probably take a check). There is a PNC ATM next door, though, okay?)
When you get tired of the usual, when you get tired of the digital, when you get tired of the same old same old, when you get tired of the slick and the packaged, when you get tired of being told what is innovative, come visit us and browse through an absolutely mind-bending bunch of literature you’ve either forgotten or never knew existed.
We have books that will make you happy. We have free coffee and tea, free wi-fi, no televisions, and plenty of encouragement. We have new books and previously loved books. We have books for kids of all ages. We are not interested in the blockbuster mentality, we are not interested in the festival, we do not believe the qualitative is measurable in quantitative terms.
’zines, ephemera, chapbooks, literary decks of cards, the page as a field for visual composition, literary journals, small press publications, things like that. We could build an online store that listed all of our titles, but, then you’d never come in to the store, and we’d miss out on getting to know you. Come visit the store, make an analog connection.
We do not buy or offer store credit for books. Please don’t bring in bags or boxes of things for us to consider (unless it’s poetry, then call first).
If you make artist’s books, ’zines, literary oddments that defy easy categorization, or otherwise produce affordable literary delights, we would like to see your work. Please mail us a non-returnable and representative sampling of what you do, along with your terms and conditions for purchasing. We like to be able to buy for about half off of cover price, and we don’t do consignment. Items we love, we will order as we are able. Items we are unsure of, we will place in a Free (for feedback) Samples box in the store. If we hear someone ooh, aah, or happydance over it, that could turn a like into a love.
